‘Russ’ is a celebration of the end of high school, a three-week party attended by most of the 18-19 year-olds in Norway. The revelries commence at the end of April and climax on the Norwegian National Day, May 17th. Jørn photographed the celebration over five years which resulted in the book ‘The Norwegian Way ‘; published by Generation Yacht in 2007. Arguably Norway’s most famous contemporary author Erlend Loe and editor-in-chief of the multi award winning magazine Carl’s Cars – Karl Eirik Haug – have contributed with stories.
